For 2010, the Annual World Conference on Carbon returns to its roots in the United States, where the first conferences in the world devoted exclusively to carbon were initiated by Prof. S. Mrozowski at the University of Buffalo in 1953.  As we revisit the traditional university setting, the American Carbon Society invites you to attend Carbon2010 at the Conference Center and Inn at Clemson University, located in the northwest corner of South Carolina in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

“From Nano to Macro” is the theme for Carbon2010.  For even as advances in nanocarbons continue to reveal exciting new applications, from electronic to optic to catalytic, there has been a resurgence in interest in bulk carbon materials, driven by increased demand in areas such as energy and transportation.

Located on beautiful Lake Hartwell, the Conference Center is an ideal venue for Carbon2010, with excellent facilities for lectures, oral communications, and posters.  In addition, a wide variety of inviting areas, both inside and out, are available for small-group discussions.
